30 vehicles with non-functional Speed Governors intercepted

Motor vehicles department officials said that on the directions of Transport Commissioner Rahul Sharma, two days special checking drive was carried out by team of Assistant Regional Transport Office Rajouri in which special focus was on non functional speed governors in the vehicles.
Officials said that during the course of checking and thirty vehicles in which speed governors were found non functional were challaned and directed to produce these vehicles before BOI Rajouri after proper installation of Speed Governors in the vehicles.
Besides five vehicles were challaned and one vehicle seized without documents by the checking team.
ARTO Rajouri Shammi Sharma said that department is conducting general vehicle checking drive throughout the district and violators are being booked.
